Game Tight

The infusion of video games and gaming consoles this Holiday season is out of control. Playstation 3, better known as the PS3, XBox 360 and the new Wii console are taking the market by storm. Of course, these systems are for more than just games; users have the opportunity to download music, movies, and accessibility to the Internet. The gaming market is even attempting to tap into the older generation, because they want to play, too.

With the release of the PS3 and Wii in the U.S., there are myriad ways to get access to these systems and their respecitive video games. However, if you haven’t got the energy to join the rest of the world in the “Black Friday” festivities the day after everyone stuffed themselves, I have some updates on where to get the hottest games and systems. When everyone starts asking if they can stop by the crib and play…. that decision I leave up to you.

Let’s start with the new Nintendo Wii, which has all the same video game app’s like EA Sports Madden 07 and the vintage Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess edition. With a virtual console that makes you feel like you’re actually in the game, this is definitely a huge jump from the classic Nintendo power pad. For more Wii info on software, games and store locators, head to http://wii.nintendo.com.

Of course, we can’t have this conversation without talking about the XBox 360. The theme for this gaming juggernaut seems to be wireless. With wireless Internet, controllers, world video, and the infusion of video chat capabilities, all any gamer needs is a refrigerator, microwave and a washer/dryer – no need to leave the crib. With recently released video games like College Hoops 2K7, Gears of War and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007, Xbox is sure to satisfy all gamers’ appetites. Upcoming releases include John Woo presents Stranglehold and Blue Dragon.

There are two different versions of the XBOX 360, but if one is going to spend the money you might as well get the whole set-up. To locate all accessories, video games, hardware and the official explanation, head to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/default.htm.

Finally, the gaming system everyone seems to have grown up on: Playstation. Similar to the XBox 360, the PS3 allows you to watch movies and videos, view photos, access the Internet with wireless adaptability, as well as hooking up your PSP to the system for other intriguing usage. The PS3 could arguably be the mother of all gaming systems. Then again, it depends on what you need. I myself remember the days of just popping in the cartridge or CD and playing the game. Now it seems like these gaming systems can do everything except get you a degree or make dinner. Of course, to identify your wants and desires for the PS3 surf to http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3. It is sure to be a great Christmas – as long as you cop one of these consoles you shouldn’t get left behind in ‘07.
