Shepard Fairey, the visionary behind OBEY Clothing, has taken his love of Public Enemy to the ultimate level. The iconic hip-hop group and clothing giant have teamed up on a collection of tees, jackets, caps, accessories, etc, which reflect the style of early Public Enemy and hip-hop in general. Fairey has said that collaborating with Public Enemy is natural considering he has been so heavily influenced by their music and style. Many artists in the industry today would most likely say the same thing.

Oh look, another Nike release that is inspired by the Beijing Olympics Games. The Nike Dunk High Quickstrike pack features five dunks in solid colorways of; yellow (missing from image), red, green, blue, and black, that represents the 5 Olympic rings. The Nike Quickstrikes do have some noteworthy attributes, like the patent quilted leather that they boast. Looking at the set all together may look hokey, but matching a pair up to a fresh outfit may be just right.

One of the oldest brands in the streetwear game has teamed up with a not so traditional artist/designer to create a fall/winter collection. Carhartt and New York’s Eric Elms have come up with a run of t-shirts and hoodies for the upcoming chilly season. The line is mostly tees and hoodies with cheeky graphics and various branded looks. The Carhartt and Eric Elms collection will be arriving in stores soon. Check out the entire set on the Carhartt site.

PF Flyers have resurfaced again with this exclusive offering. I’m told that this Perrin model makes use of a goat skin upper, combined with Japanese houndstooth. Hmmm, in the race to get the most exclusive materials, this might be questionable. Anyways, the shoe is nice and simple. Major DC is the only store to carry these, so you better get off the computer and get to the phone. And don’t let your shoes eat your socks… (get it? Goats eat clothing…).

Puma has come out with their Disc Blaze model that has been inspired by the popular 80’s movie, The Goonies. It seems as though Puma is getting on board with releasing sneakers that are inspired by an 80’s flick. Just last week we reported on the Nike Ferris Bueller release. However, unlike the Bueller model, it is not as clear how the sneakers directly correlate to the Goonies film. There is a mixture of materials and patterns, including a skull motif and a hemp detail on the toe and tongue, which is most likely meant to be a shout out to the treasure adventure the characters went on. Some have said that the Puma Disc Blaze’s are heavily inspired by the film’s Sloth character. This makes sense, similar to Sloth the shoes are not so easy on the eyes, but have some loveable qualities.
