For those of you out there that haven’t been able to keep up with Upper Playground and all of their artistic endeavors, now is the time to catch up.  UP is has compiled images and copy of their past and crafted this one of a kind book, titled: Upper Playground Vol.II: 10 Years of Artistic Endeavors.  The book features many of the toys, collaborations, furniture, and art featured in the UP stores and the FIFTY24SF gallery.  The book is on sale now at participating retailers and the UP site, so don’t miss out again on your chance of owning some history.

Sometimes, we at Format feel that there aren’t enough brands out there that are getting enough shine.  One of these brands is Ucon.  The brand has totally turned things around and is starting fresh with a new website and an extensive new collection.  VERY clean design and subtle graphics play a key role as they are expressed across many mediums.  Look for nice cuts of denim, in various washes, jackets, tees (not printed on AAA), hats, leather goods, socks, hoodies… available in men’s and women’s.  One could say that these guys are right on track with some of the other brands out there that most of us “hump” on a regular basis.  Good looks on this one!

Sometimes we just can’t wear plain meaningless clothes, they have their place, but really aren’t true to the roots of streetwear.  For Holiday ‘08, TBG has crafted a nice collection of goods in a line that they call “The Beautiful Boogey Man”.  The line is supposed to convey the common fear that is projected to the populous through the media.  Look for 7 new tees and a nice varsity style jacket to hit the shelves sooner that you would expect.

A few months back, The Hundreds hinted at a high-profile collaboration with legendary animation company Disney. We’ve finally been given our first look at one of the resulting products via The Hundreds SF manager Tony’s blog. The shirt pictured has two of Peter Pan’s Lost Boys decked out in urban gear, with the LA label’s name written in the classic Disney font. No word yet on availability, so keep your eyes peeled for more info on this awesome, hilarious line.
