First post

Hello Format readers. This is my first post and as such I choose to waste it on learning how to upload a picture. If you cannot see a picture here then you know I’ve failed.

undftd-iphone

It seems like almost everyone has an iPhone these days, and it seems like even more people are offering custom cases and covers.  Undefeated has joined in on this racket and is offering some new cases to suit your fancy.  The hard-shell cases are are crafted from durable hard plastic and feature different printed logos on the back of each of the 2 available colors.  These will drop on May 2nd at all UNDFTD chapter and web stores.

Nike Spring 2009 Footwear Collection

nike-wmns

Some new hotness from Nike has just rolled out for their Spring footwear collection.  Looks like the men’s and women’s lines are pretty strong as they both receive some supreme treatments and are offered to quickstrike accounts.  One of the obvious men’s standouts is the Nike Trainer 1 in a red/white micro-stripe colorway.  Subtle touches like a contrasting gum sole and button strap closure really give it a different feel.  The popularity of the Skinny Dunk has really taken of and is now offered in a black colorway with bird and feather all over print.  Other styles are available now as well at select Nike retailers.

Neon Dreams

Chris Haines

My good mate Chris Haines has updated his portfolio at neondreams.com.au. Some epic work in here, and a tidy redesign as well.

Andre Ethier ‘Heading South’ Exhibit @ Derek Eller Gallery

andre-ethier

Currently, Toronto’s Andre Ethier might be one of most acclaimed musicians in Canada – his work with The Deadly Snakes was Polaris-nominated, and his folk-inflected solo work might even be better. But, in his other life, he’s an equally incredible artist, as well, with his fourth solo show at New York’s Derek Eller Gallery being a testament to his uncanny talent. His surreal paintings will be on display until May 16th, and they are truly stunning: using an array of techniques, they depict crossbred human-plants and nature scenes riddled with eyeballs, appendages, and cigarettes, all awash in a liberal film of psychedelia. For those in New York, don’t miss out on one of Canada’s most talented contemporary artists. More images from this exhibit here.

Ropeadope ‘The People’ Tee

ropeadope

Ropeadope have made one thing clear: they’re not partisan. Well, at least according to this tee, entitled ‘The People.’ With a graphic depicting a hand-formed ‘W’ and  ‘E’, they’re making a statement that it’s not about West or East, but about ‘We’ – or ‘us,’ if you’re the nitpicking type (but that’s a lot harder to spell out with your hands). Supplies of are limited, so head on over to Digital Gravel to grab one.

Jamungo Buds and Nades Figures

jamungo1

For the design talent out there, here’s some good news: Jamungo has released a blank version of their ever-popular Buds and Nades figures. These figures are released in grey and retail at $20 a pop, which ain’t a bad starting point for those who need a little encouragement to get their DIY on (sure, it cost more than freeganism, but whatever). Keep an eye on your local retailers, or head on over to Jamungo for the full scoop.

Creative Kegger Series.

This was a fun one to work on. “The Creative Kegger Series” – A new monthly gathering at Cluster Studios (22,000 sq/ft) Warehouse in Denver, Colorado. Every month a new themed party, first one being “NYC Street Games”. 4-square, Double Dutch, Stickball + Choice Micro-Brew Beer + Artists, Fashion Designers, Musicians. Definitely sounds like a good time. Stay tuned for a special MWM|Cluster Event planned for later this summer. I am going to go crazy on these walls! More news on that soon. Click-Zoom.
