Osa & I attended the Diesel XXX party last Saturday. To celebrate its 30th birthday Diesel hosted 17 simultaneous parties in 17 cities around the world, ending in Brooklyn. They built an airplane hanger size tent on the East River south of the Brooklyn Bridge with front end projections on all sides, circus performers, & free booze for 5,000 partygoers.
On the rare occasion that they were serving Bulleit Bourbon, they were also miserably understaffed at the bar. Which, in New York, is more of a hazard than a few cigarette butts on the ground at the end of the night.
The line up included Hot Chip, motherfuckin’ Chaka Khan, a prenatal bellied MIA, TI, Franz Ferdinand, Pharell & NERD.
Highlights: Dantanimal Planet, Theo, GFC, Jelsen & Bahareh, J-Davey, & Free Bourbon.
