Colombian photographer Cristian Crisis has reinterpreted the innocence of the classic children’s plaything with his ‘Barbie’s Life’ series. The images, which feature Barbie and various action figures in a variety of compromising positions and contexts, work to convey – for better or for worse – the endless possibilities these figures represent. Balancing the humor of the subject with high aesthetic, Crisis’ Barbie’s Life photo series represents the darker sides of imagination.
