The Journal Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, is set to play host to the first American solo exhibition of by sculptor Ida Ekblad. Ekblad graduated from the National Academy of Art in Oslo, Norway, before moving on to the Mountain Academy of the Arts in Los Angeles, California. Her work is based on what she calls ‘drift’, the notion of found items coming together to create sculptures that represent the particular city they originate from. Ida’s exhibition is called ‘Salty Sap Green Black’, and opens September 9th, 2009 and will run until October 25th, 2009.
