President Obama has pledged to pull troops out of Iraq by 2012, but Nike is lacing up and dropping in for duty now. The shoe giant has developed the Special Forces Boot (SFB), a lightweight feat of technical innovation for military personnel currently serving desert duty. The SFB features special cushioning for heel to sole support, a raised heel for better traction when going downhill, Sticky Rubber forefoot lugs to help troops navigate traction on any terrain, a mid-sole that protects against punctures and lacerations, and a Kevlar sheath.
